Preparing for surgery day

Well, Jacob's surgery has been moved up to very early tomorrow morning! We are hopeful that this "simple procedure" will go smoothly and that there will be no complications with the anesthesia. We are trusting in the God who is bigger than all of this to carry us through tomorrow. Megan is set up for a sleepover tonight and playdate tomorrow at dance class! How I hate to miss her "twirling."

Many of you have been asking for an update on my mom too. She is still waiting on the results from the genetic blood test so her appointment was rescheduled for next Tuesday.

As promised I took pictures at Sea World! God bless you all!

They really do love each other

I am so blessed to have the two kiddos that I have. My prayer is that as they grow close to Jesus that they love each other fiercely! I know there will be days (there are already some of those), but I love when they love each other!

4,000 bubbles a minute

Megan recently got a bubble machine for her birthday that claimed to make 4,000 bubbles a minute. We've put it to the test and it does indeed! We've run through those bubbles and had to buy more. She loves it! Thanks Emma and Adair.

I can't believe I forgot the camera!

We are trying our hardest to have what we can of a "normal" life. It seems unpacking, party planning, news of cancer and dr's appointments have taken over much of our lives these past two weeks. So, today we loaded up after naptime and headed to Sea World! Half way there I realize that I forgot the camera.....I'm a terrible mother. However, I promise next time we go we'll take the camera! We got to see the dolphin show and Meg loved it--they jumped high and there were birds and people swinging in the air! Jacob held it together all the way around the park so we got to see the manatees, turtles, stingrays, dolphins, alligators and the sharks! She is so fearless and loves all God's creatures. She wanted to touch all the dangerous ones. "Do they bite?, Can I pet them?"

Jacob is doing well awaiting surgery--no apparent pain. My mom has had her blood test, met with the surgeon and is waiting to have an MRI before they decide what type of surgery she will have. Apparently the options currently are lumpectomy with radiation or mastectomy. Her spirits seem to be up now that she's had some time to process and prepare for some of what's ahead. So many friends and coworkers have stepped up to share their stories and walk with her during this time--my brother and I are forever grateful to you!

Jim is loving being back in the midst of our church family here at Westpoint and so am I. I was asked to help in an Administrative Assistant role and am so grateful to be able to work around my kids schedule and to be a help to something I so firmly believe in! I've also been able to jump back in with the praise band on Sunday mornings and love it! Music is such a huge part of my heart and I'm so grateful that God allows me to be a part of this.

Well, that's it for today. I promise new pictures soon. God bless!

Lots going on.....

Well we've gotten moved in and as many of you know life is a little crazy at the moment for our family. We found out just before we moved that Jacob is going to need a surgical procedure to correct a hydrocele. We have met with the pediatric urologist (the same one who did our precious friend Caleb's surgery last year) and are simply waiting until May 12th for his surgery. In the midst of this my sweet mom was called back for a biopsy after a suspicious mammogram and has now been diagnosed with breast cancer. She will be returning tomorrow for a genetic blood test, meets with the surgeon on Friday and then will wait 10 days for the test results before she will be scheduled for either a lateral or most likely a bi-lateral mastectomy.

Please be in prayer for my mom, for Jacob and our entire family as we journey through this time. God is proving to be Great to us in the midst of circumstances and we are ever grateful for His provision and love through family and friends around us!

Megan's 3rd birthday!

Well, our firstborn has turned three and we got to celebrate with our "Florida friends" on Saturday. Megan was a little apprehensive at first, but we had a blast jumping on the jumper, playing in the ball pit, blowing bubbles, rolling down the hill (well, slope really), crafting picture frames and having princess cupcakes and pink lemonade. It truly was a great time with our friends. We missed that family wasn't able to be here with us, but we hope you enjoy the pictures.
